From humble beginnings in St. Louis, MO, to becoming a global leader in environmentally responsible foam technology, FSI’s journey is one of growth, innovation, and commitment to excellence.

1972 David and Karen Keske found FSI in their St. Louis, MO home, driven by their passion for polyurethanes and customer service.

1974 Development of FLUSH dispensing equipment for reliable, cost-effective rigid polyurethane foam dispensing.

1978 Continued business growth leads to a move to a larger production facility.

1981 Awarded contract to supply walk-in cooler insulation for the USS Theodore Roosevelt, later supplying the USS Abraham Lincoln (1984) and USS George Washington (1986).

1983 FSI develops ElastaBond™, used in track and field facilities at the 1984 Summer Olympics.

1984 Expansion with a new production facility in Dallas, TX.

1986 Patent granted for SLUG dispensing equipment, eliminating toxic solvent flushes.

1989 Patent for the first HCFC-22 polyurethane to comply with the Montreal Protocol.

1995 New company headquarters and R&D facility built in St. Louis, MO.

1997 Introduction of Foamnail® and OnePart™ industrial adhesives for strong bonds and tight seals.

2002 Launch of Ecomate®, the first eco-friendly blowing agent technology.

2003 Ecomate® receives US EPA SNAP listing.

2004 Ecomate® granted VOC-exempt status by the US EPA.

2005 FSI expands globally with partnerships across Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

2008 Ecomarine® wins Environmental Innovation Award at IBEX Trade Show.

2009 Ecomate® receives GRAS accreditation from the FDA.

2010 McDonald’s equipment supplier adopts Ecofoam® worldwide.

2011 FSI opens its first owned and operated location in New Delhi, India.

2012 Expansion into flexible foam markets.

2015 Introduction of the SLUG® PRO dispensing equipment.

2016 FSI S.r.l. opens in Italy.

2019 OptiTherm® C1 certified as a Class I (A) fire-resistant zero-GWP foam system.

2020 Introduction of PolyShot™ Pro foam applicator and ThermaFroth™ low-pressure SPF system.

2021 Launch of Conti-Foam for continuous lamination processing and expansion of St. Louis campus.

2022 FSI opens operations in the UAE, celebrating 50 years in business.

2023 PolyShot dispensing applicator introduced to meet evolving spray foam industry regulations.

2025 FSI continues global capacity expansion.
