In the wake of the devastating tornadoes that struck St. Louis on May 16, FSI is proud to stand with our community by contributing to the Severe Storm & Tornado Relief Fund managed by the United Way of Greater St. Louis.
Our hearts go out to every neighbor affected by the storms, and we are committed to helping ensure that no one faces these challenges alone.

About the Relief Fund

The United Way of Greater St. Louis has activated the May 16, 2025 Severe Storm & Tornado Relief Fund to provide both immediate and long-term support to residents across the bi-state region.
All funds raised will be used directly for crisis response and recovery efforts, including support for local nonprofits and trained disaster response partners. This ensures that 100% of donations go to those who need it most.

How You Can Help

There are several ways individuals and organizations can join the relief efforts:
  • Donate: Contributions to the Severe Storm/Tornado Relief Fund can be made at helpingpeople.org/stormrelief. Every dollar stays in the local community to support families and neighborhoods rebuilding after the storm.
  • Volunteer: Those interested in hands-on support can sign up at STLVolunteer.org to be notified about volunteer opportunities as they become available. Volunteers are urgently needed for cleanup and to help distribute essential supplies.
  • Get Help: Residents impacted by the storms can call the United Way’s 211 Helpline, available 24/7, or visit 211helps.org for assistance with shelter, food, financial support, and other urgent needs.

Community Partners in Action

FSI joins a broad coalition of local organizations, including the United Way, KSDK 5 On Your Side, and many others, working together to raise awareness, mobilize volunteers, and provide critical resources.

What’s Needed Most

In addition to monetary donations, there is a significant need for supplies such as tarps, plywood, lumber, work gloves, and cleaning products. Supply drop-off locations include the O’Fallon YMCA, Urban League (Kingshighway location), and 4144 Martin Luther King Drive.

A Message from the United Way

“Our hearts go out to all of our affected neighbors. Friday’s storms were simply devastating and we want to help ensure no one is facing resulting impacts alone. Our 211 Helpline remains available 24/7 to assist with navigating to resources and services. Volunteers can go to stlvolunteer.org for ways they can register to get involved and help. Donations can be made at helpingpeople.org. United Way will continue collaborating closely with COAD and disaster management organizations to help our community rebuild and recover.”
