Conti-Foam

Rigid Polyurethane Foam for Continuous Lamination

Conti-Foam® is a rigid polyurethane foam specifically designed for the production of insulated metal panels through continuous double belt lamination applications, which are commonly used in the production of architectural panels, garage doors, and other rigid-faced products.

Rigid polyurethane has the lowest thermal conductivity of all foam insulating materials and is ideal for use in metal composites. Conti-Foam provides superior adhesion, bonding to the panel skins as it cures to provide greater dimensional stability and thermal performance compared to adhered boardstock.

Rigid Polyurethane foam for Continuous Line Operations

Conti-Foam® systems are made with our patented Ecomate® blowing agent, a zero-GWP, non-VOC blowing agent that offers a proven alternative to HFCs, HFOs and HCFOs and complies with all international environmental regulations.

Foam systems blown with Ecomate® technology offer easy transition from HFC systems compared to other fourth-generation blowing agents. No permits or explosion proofing is required before transitioning to Ecomate®-blown foam products.

Introduced in 2002, Ecomate® is the longest commercially available sustainable, zero-GWP, compliant blowing agent on the market.

Conti-Foam® has robust processing characteristics that allow for the production of panels with uniform surface profiles. This means that the panels will have a consistent appearance and quality, which can be important for applications where aesthetics are a key consideration.

It is designed to provide high performance over a lifetime of heavy use. This means that panels made with Conti-Foam® will be durable and reliable, even in demanding applications where they are exposed to significant wear and tear.

  • Conti-Foam is designed for continuous double-belt lamination manufacturing across a range of panel thicknesses.
  • Rigid polyurethane, the material used in Conti-Foam, has the lowest thermal conductivity of all foam insulating materials and is ideal for use in metal composites.
  • Conti-Foam provides superior adhesion, bonding to the panel skins as it cures to provide greater dimensional stability and thermal performance compared to adhered boardstock.
  • Excellent flowability and consistent density distribution of Conti-Foam systems from FSI leads to more consistent, defect-free manufacturing.
  • Robust processing capabilities enable manufacturers to easily change over to Conti-Foam for a wide variety of profiles while improving overall cycle time.
